I'm considering launching a live webtv channel that consists of programs, flicks, shortfilms etc provided by an online community. I would like the streaming format to be viewable on Win, Mac and Linux. It must be streamed live and will run 24/7.
I'm looking for a streaming schedueler (software) that will take various media files as inputs and each file can be schedueled to be broadcasted at a specific time. There should also be some sort of fading in and out withing this schedueler to allow for smooth transitions. Inbetween the programs we will run a screen with upcoming programs and times. If this could be made automatically from the schedueler that would be nice.
I have great experience with Windows Media servers and streaming, but I'm open to other streaming formats on this system. Anything that will work will be considered actually and if the schedueler can run on Linux or FreeBSD - even better!
I guess you understand what we're looking for. Now my question, does a schedueler like this exist? If so, where, what?
I look forward to your input.
Cheers!
