  1. Hi folks,

How do you identify the relevant cells (?) and remove the ones containing startup warnings/trailers before the main DVD menu, either at the MTR ripping stage or DVD2Onex shrinking stage? I like making 'disc copies' with the original menu, but hate those pre-menu warnings/trailers.

I read someone suggesting Yade could preview cells. Is there a better way?

    Cheers,
    B

  2. After you process through MTR I think you can use VLC to preview the cells and then just delete them.
Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion.

Trailers and Warnings will usually be the smallest data
and have the shortest runtime. In DTOX, you can view
by Title, and check the run time.

Take heed though, Sony in its attempts at ArCCoss, is
taking great lengths to screw up the IFOs, which is the
"roadmap" of the DVD. Removing things could cause you to just
end up doing "Movie Only" copies, as the IFO can become damaged
    where DTOX won't shrink it.

If you're deleting VOBs, it's sometimes safer to create a little 1k text file, give it the exact same name as the VOB you want to trash, and then do a swap. Sometimes if you just delete a file, some players will hang up because it can't find an object that the IFO files say should be there. The swap with a text file preserves the file structure, and most players just instantly run through the dummy file and keep going.

A safer route is to use MyDVD edit to change the "prohibited user Options" This won't elimate them, but it allows you to speed past them with chapter forward or go straight to the main menus without having to watch the FBI screen for 10 seconds. And, since you aren't changing anything about file sizes or the structure of the disc, you shouldn't have any issues with crashing .

You could also disable the Same UOPs by
selecting "Disable UOPs" in MTR in your
    initial rip.
