Hey guys jst recently i lost all my data from my drive because i accidently wiped my drive (https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=314174&highlight=) as you can see i managed to recover almost everything, even my MP3s!

Right when coming to play some of the files using Windows Media Player or Real Player i get the following errors,

    Media Player: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d152/Squid_uk/Windows.jpg

    Realplayer: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d152/Squid_uk/Real.jpg

I did notice that when viewing the files in my folder with the view tiles option that the MP3s that gave errors did not have the same details as the other shown in image

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d152/Squid_uk/files.jpg

Is this just coinsidence as i did manage to find 1 file with the same sort of description as the other but it did play,

Codecs i have installed are Divx, Xvid and Lame (Razorlame) also the Windows Media Player Codec Pack,

Do you guys have any idea what could be causing these errors?

WMP supports mp3 playback without additional codecs.

As I noted in your other thread, recovery software isn't always able to recover the actual data (especially after your drive was formatted and the OS reinstalled). Most likely all (most) of the files are garbage. The only way to find which ones are complete is to try and play each one.

    Yes.

Although corrupt isn't the right term. Aside from the file names, the expect the data portion of the files is all garbage.
