Just recently, my computer DVD player has started to play DVDs with very choppy video and audio. They also seems to be fast-forwarding. It happens with either of my DVD drives and with several different software packages. It doesn't matter if the DVD is home burned or commercial. I've tried shutting off any other other programs and unnecessary services but that didn't help.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

another thing you could try is ripping a DVD that has problems to your Hard Drive and see if it plays OK from your Hard Drive

have you installed anything new recently also or updated any drivers?
