I ripped from DVD as Mpeg-2, then I edit MPEG2 video in virutaldubMOD. When I save as full process or fast recompress in virtualdubMOD, the size is over 15GB !!! How can I keep small size???

  2. Select a compression codec and use the codec's config dialogs to select the bitrate.

VirtualDubMod cannot save as MPEG2. Actually there is an add-on, YMPEG, that lets you save as MPEG2.

You can also frameserve (the process of sending frames one by one to another program, without saving to an intermediate AVI file) to an MPEG encoder.

If you are not doing any filtering that will be faster and slightly higher quality.

VirtualDubMod does not save to mpeg, it only saves to AVI. If you want a high-quality AVI for viewing on the computer), I suggest using the XVID or DIVX codecs. If you're going to edit, use a lossless codec like HuffYUV or Lagarith, or Panasonic's DV codec. If you're going for DVD, I'd suggest frameserving to your favorite MPEG2 encoder (the one I use is TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 - I've never had any problems with this one). If you don't know how to Frameserve with VirtualDub, click here.

If by "editing" you mean "cutting parts only" (without applying any filters), well, you shouldn't be using VirtualDub, but rather an MPEG-2 editor like Cuttermaran.
