You could try running it thru svcd2dvdmpg first. Seems like a PAL SVCD mpg to me. Not familiar with what TV system's used in Israel, but this will result in a PAL DVD. DVD-Lab Pro will also author it "as is" (without the help from svcd2dvdmpg) after sternly telling you that it will be a non standard DVD.
The "real" way would be to reencode it to DVD specifications, but that'd lower quality and take some time to do.

In Israel we use PAL format.

Anyway, I would like to burn it on a DVD (Not as VCD or SVCD).

How to convert it to MPG with 720X576?

    I've already explained that:
You could try running it thru svcd2dvdmpg first.
DVD-Lab Pro will also author it "as is" (without the help from svcd2dvdmpg)
The "real" way would be to reencode it to DVD specifications, but that'd lower quality and take some time to do.
3 options for you to consider. 1& 2 will create non std DVD. By reencoding, you can make it a fully compliant DVD (paying the price in dropped quality and reencoding time).

VirtualDudMod seems OK to me. How can I convert it using Filter resize?

In addition, what video compression I should use?

You have to frameserve to an mpeg encoder, like CCE, MainConcept or TMPGEnc.

    Sorry, but I didn't understand:

I have installed the VirtualDudMod and the TMPEG 2.524.

Now, I have opened the MPG file. What else?

What guides, help files and manuals have you read?
    This may get you going:

But really - You'd save yourself lots of time & trouble by using svcd2dvdmpg

You can do the same as SVCD2DVD does and even better.
    1. Patch the files' metadata with DVDPatcher (free) to 720x576 ('patch the whole file' setting).
    2. Resample audio 44.1 to 48kHz (if it is not 48kHz originally) and re-encode it to preferred audio format.
3.Author your DVD the usual way (TDA won't complain now)
    4. Patch all the VOBs back to 480x576 (this ensures correct aspect ratio at playback).
Maybe your player should support SVCD to playback this. Detailed manual can be found at www.doom9.org

[quote="Alex_ander"]You can do the same as SVCD2DVD does and even better.Indeed you can, even if I don't understand what's better, with the manual method. In this case, I however think the OP is better off with as streamlined procedure as possible. (No offense intended! )

Saying 'better' I meant audio processing. I won't use SVCD2DVD not because it's not free but just for the reason I don't know how it resamples audio. I always do it manually in a sound editor using higher bit-depth 32 or 64 bit (live music video is my main interest) and never trust one-click applications in this. Since it is simple, I can't find SVCD2DVD worth buying .

I didn't suggest svcd2dvd - I said svcd2dvdmpg which is free. It just patches the resolution, demuxes, resamples audio and muxes back again. It uses SSRC to resample the audio - generally considered the best (free) resampler available.

OK, I agree svcd2dvdmpg will help p_uriel to solve the problem (but myself I'll still work with audio the way I do).
Just looked into the manual here on the site: for some reason re-patching files back after authoring is called 'optional' though the author had problems himself when he skipped that option. I think it's important to spend one more click on this - the player should 'know' from what exact size it has to stretch the line to 720.

I've had no problems without repatching back, using TDA. Only visible evidence that the source isn't 100% compliant is that the thumbnails TDA creates for title/chapter menus are filled with solid green about 1/3 at the left side, and the actual image is compressed into the rest. However, playback has been 100%. I guess it's very player dependent.

Both methods suggested here are for DVD.

    1. Patch method using svcd2dvdmpg or DVDPatcher doesn't need re-encoding video stream but some standalone players might not support this.
    2. For re-encoding to DVD-compliant files (your source is likely an MPEG2 for SVCD) you have to either frameserve your source (decoded to avi in VDubMod or AviSynth) if your encoder just supports avi on input (CCE, TMPGEncPlus; not a simple method if you are new to this), or use an encoder capable of importing MPEG2 (I'd recommend TMPGEncXpress3 or 4 and it also encodes twice faster than TMPGEncPlus).
