    hi

    is there such a program? what would be the best as far as converting with little quality loss?

    I haven't tried it, but SUPER, ConvertXToDVD, and TMPGEnc encoder may be able to do those conversions. Quality from fair to good, in order of the listing. It depends on the Quicktime format if it will work properly.

    There are probably better ways, but those come to mind first.

    QT is a container format, like AVI. The actual codec inside will differ somewhat. It used to be Cinepak way back then, then they switched to Sorenson, and now H264, but by now the extension is renamed MP4, thus the confusion.

    Just try SUPER and see if that works. If not, we'll think of something else.

    QuickTimeAlternative+AviSynth+CCE for video stream;

    QuickTimeAlternative+VDub+SoundForge+SoftEncode for audio stream;
