I keep encoding movies that way with no problems. Here's what happened with one:

Encode with CCE.... extract wav with VirtualDubMod and convert it to AC3 with ffmpeggui03c.

Movie is 25fps... I put .MPV and .AC3 on DVD-Lab pro, compile, burn with nero and movie's sound is out of sync!...

    Any clues?

Are you sure the original AVI is in sync? Try loading the AVI directly into Ffmpeg and convert to AC3.

Doubt it but it's worth a go Are the lengths of the WAV, MPV and AC3 the same?
