    Hey im in the midst of making a pro counter strike source movie. Im using Vegas, does anyone know how to do this...

    Use the Cookie Cutter, http://www.johnrofrano.com/vegastips.htm#animatedBorder (but you don't need to make it animated).

    In your favorite graphics program (photoshop, paintshop pro etc) create the border you want with the centre section transparent. Output as a png file with transparency.

    Load this onto the track above your video (create a new track, or drag the image to to create a new track below, then movie it up). Stretch the graphic to the length of the video.

    Your video should show through the transparent section.

    I use a similar method to create static lower thirds for Vegas.
