I’m perplexed and at a loss! I have a multiplexed MPEG-2 AV file burned onto a DVD that plays fine (as it should) when launched by Cyberlink’s Power DVD 6 on my computer, however when I open the exact same file with MS Windows Media Player (whether it be classic, version 10 or whatever) the video plays fine but there is no audio!!
Please help me to solve this mystery. Am I missing a codec or something? Is there some preference or setting not set-up right in media player? BTW, Zoom Player won’t open this file either.
Thanks,
Bruce

What type of audio is it? DTS? DD? MP2?

I converted the original PCM/Wave file to a AC3 file.
This AC3 file was then multiplexed to it's accompanying .MPG/video file. Sorry,I don't know what DD or DTS stands for. -
Try AC3 Filter. BTW, DD is Dolby Digital (AC3) and DTS is Digital Theatre Sound.

Update:I installed AC Filter, rebooted and despite that, playing an muxed MPEG 2 on media player still yielded the exact same results...video only,no audio at all! That being stated,
how does one sucessfully interface AC Filter to Windows Media Player. What are the settings and preferences?Am keen to solve this mystery.
Thanks,
Bruce
