I'll get through this as quickly as possible - but here's what happened...

I got a new Mac G4 with a DVD burner. The burner is a Pioneer DVR-103 - same as the A03, just OEM'd for Apple. I yanked the drive and put it in my PC. Works great. But - DVD-R or DVD-RW I burn don't play in my Apex AD-600a. Well, maybe they would if I burned them right. So - does the Apex not support these, or am I ripping/burning wrong? Here's how I ripped/burned...

To backup a DVD I own, I used SmartRipper 2.41 to copy the entire Video_ts folder. (First tried DVDDecrypter v3.0.0.9 in ISO mode, but it errored with a "cannot copy file" message at 93% done - this was repeatable.) I then manually copied the Jacket_p folder. So both video_ts and jacket_p are in the same parent directory. I launched Nero 5.5.6.4, got to the DVD menu, and selected DVD(ISO). Burned the 2 folders to both DVD-R and DVD-RW. Both play great in my PC that burned them, but neither play in the Apex (nor in my Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop with a DVD player). The DVD-R media was Apple DVD-R v2.0 and the DVD-RW was Pioner v1.1.

Do I need to rip differently? Burn differently? Use different media? Buy a different set-top player and different laptop?

I'd like to progress beyond CD-R VCD and DVD-R(W) seems to be the way to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
