    I've recently been given a Sony Betamax SL-2401. It powers on when plugged in but when I load a tape, it will not play, eject, FF, anything. The clock is still on so I know there is some power to the machine, but the light on the power button goes off and will not go back on. After manually removing the tape, the power light comes back on. Can anyone help me fix this problem or direct me to a site or source where I can resolve it? Thanks so much.

    these units are about 25$ used -- it would cost more to fix it
