I put a video file on the timeline. It had an audio and video track. I deleted the audio track and replaced it with an empty video track. Next I opened the video checkerboard plug-in on the second video track, played around with setting and exited. Next turned on the solo for both video tracks. It played as both were overlayed. That's fine. More playing with the plug-in in the second track. Something didnt' seem right when the two tracks were played. Knocked out the second track Oddly, the plug-in still influenced track 1. Taking a closer look at the track, the frames looked like they showed the plug-in material. How can this be? Putting a plug-in on the second track shouldn't cause it to be embedded in the first, right?
The avi file, as shown in the Media Mgr window shows they have merged. How do I get the plug-in out of there?
Maybe I'm missing the point about the checkerboard. I was told that it could be used to superimpose text over a video clip. Supposedly it provides transparency for the area outside the text and some ability to move the text around the video portion, so one can place it properly. Maybe there's another checkerboard?
