Normally when you are shutting down Morpheus or Kazaa and there is still dowloads in progress, they will stay in memory until your next startup.
For some reason I cannot see these .dat files restarting.
I can see them them when i go to my Explorer folder where all my downloads are kept .
My question is...Is it possible to load them back in for continuance?

Sometimes, when I have a .dat file from Morpheus, and it's not quite done yet, I burn it onto a cd, then take it to a friends house and I can continue the .dat file by dragging it to the shared folder. Its possible to do what u said

.dat are the temporary file that are created while you download, if you have avi, divx or mpeg then your file download is completed

The way of recontinuing is not quite as simple as dragging a dat file back into the shared folder. A reliable friend tells me that whilst this might work on Kazaa it doesn't or at least I've nver got it to do this on Morpheus. But despair not for the following little technique works about 90% of the time:-
Periodically backup your dat file (unfortunately this is sometimes the cause of a systems crash)and make a record of the exact file name that u were downloading.
If your file wont restart or the DAT has simply dissapeared, start a fresh download of the exact same file.
Pause this new download, rename your original dat file to the same name as the new one you started.
Close down Morpheus totally (if u don't it will not let you substitute/replace this file with the other one.)
Put the new DAT into your shared folder and prayMake sure that you have removed the old one as well.
Voila add grated cheese and you have a well seasoned download.
