I have been downloading TV episodes I missed off the net. I try to get 3 episodes on a cheapo 4.7 DVD+R. I usually use Nero 7.0 to transfer the movies on to DVD's automatically but if one of the movies is too big it will compress all 3 movies to a lower quality video compression dropping it down by 500 megabytes or more so it fits within the 4.7 parameters, leaving a lot of unused space. There is no way to adjust the file output size for one movie down 100mb to fill the DVD to exactly 4.7. Is there a program out there that you can adjust the output size to fit it where you need it to be?

Ps. I edit out all the unneeded stuff out before burning it to DVD, the commercials, etc.

  2. Hi-

I know nothing about Nero 7.0, but by adjusting the bitrate, most encoders allow you to adjust the output size to within a single MB, if you wish. Maybe try a different encoder.

Either encode to an oversized disc, and use Shrink to selectively reduce one item, or encode each eipsode seperately and author with something other than Nero.
