I can get the error message if that helps. A window keeps popping up saying DVD Santa has done something illegal and a error has occured all data in program may be lost. Uninstall DVD Santa and use better software ?

It is probably codec related. Perhaps start by using codec sniper to check the codecs on your system.

Or contact DVD Santa support. You paid for the product, so they should be helping you.

Unfortunately, that sort of error can be caused by a lot of things. Make sure the paths for your files that are processed with the program are not buried too deep in folders within folders.

    Defrag your hard drive.

Have you installed any other programs lately? Especially codecs as mentioned? Also take guns1inger's advice and use a program like Codec Sniper to clear out any corrupted codecs.

    Re-install the program.

And maybe the best advice, try another program. If that solves the problem, that may be the best answer.

If other programs freeze the same way, check CPU temperatures. Or your RAM may be causing problems. These last two would likely show up with any CPU intensive programs, such as encoders.

  4. I tried Codec Sniper and found 2 broken ones then that didn't work. Already defragmented my HD didn't work. I'm going to try and look at my folders. Does anybody know if the program Super can convert any files to vob files with the vts? Thanks for your help

  5. Install the latest K-lite codec pack. It has worked for many in solving the type of problem faced by you.
While installing, it will ask you for uninstalling codecs which are creating conflicts.

GRB: you need to convert to DVD compliant MPEG2, then use an authoring package like GUIforDVDAuthor to create the VOBs with the VTSs.

And don't put k-lite or any codec pack on your system unless you enjoy puzzles and rebuilding. K-lite is for warez hacks only. If you are in any way serious about video and the health of your system, use a codec identifier (g-spot, avicodec etc) and install just the codec you need, as you need it. Anything else is foolishness.

  9. Oh yea one more thing DVD Santa's customer support, wait what am I talking about dvd santa has no support. I have tried but but my efforts are in vain. I was thinking of suing the crap out of them for everything they got but its really not even worth it I guess I have to chop it up as a loss and just take the L.

Unfortunately, many of the conversion software houses seem to be dodgy. Ask anyone who has tried to contact WinAVI support. The irony is, the guys who write the software that they then give away generally give you better support because they actually care about the software and the process, not about ripping off people.
