    Hi all:

The reason i'm posting this is more to satisfy my curiosity than looking for help.

I have downloaded an AVI movie with a strange behaviour:

When I open it on GSpot I get the following information:
Stream Type: open DML AVI 1/l= 1 vid frame (42ms) p= 480 split No

    VIDEO: 4cc Xvid
    BR 1215 kb
    TPS 23,97

    AUDIO: 0x0055 (MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 lay
    br: 129 kb/s (64 ch.stereo) VB
    49800 HZ

1-I cant play the file on BsPlayer !!! it starts but after a few seconds gives me an error and
    BsPlayer closes.

2-I can play the file correctely on WMP !!! and I can even see the subtitles that came with
the movie on a separate file.!!

3- When I make a direct stream copy with Virtualdub , Then I can see the file on BsPlayer.
    Subtitles not.

4-I could convert to DVD the original avi file using VSO CONVERTXTODVD easily.

5-When playing the generated DVD on bsplayer it works great !!

6-Subtiles: I cannot open the subtitles file on subtitles workshop !!! i cannot open the file
    with notepad !!! file type is : nameofthemovie.sub !!!

    Now my questions are:

Why I cannot play it with BsPlayer and I can play it on WMP !!!
Why the subtitles file cannot be opened neither with STWS nor on Notepad ??

    c'mon experts enlighten me please.
    hilario

    1. Don't know.
    2. Probably sub/idx image subtitles. If you want to edit them you have to convert to text first with for example subrip.
