    hi, all

I've been using tmpenc now for ages with no problems but a got a wierd problem with this avi file of mine, at the momment it's in xvid form and im trying convert it to dvd, so im using tmpgenc to get the .m2v stream out of it.

anywayz video length is 01:41:47, everytime i try to encode it using tmpgenc it produces the m2v film upto 01:00:37, as you can see im missing 41 mins+

I've run the avi file through virtual dub to scan for any errors in the file and it dosn't report any problems with the file.

any ideas on how to fix this?

    thanks.

It could still be corrupt. I would try convert with something else like super or the all-in-one convertxtodvd or dvd flick.

Try running it trough VD again and resave it. That's sometimes the quick and easy way to repair them, though you will have quality loss. In VD, can you run through the whole video with no problems, especially around the 01:00:37 mark?

With Xvids, I use ConvertXToDVD most of the time as the quality is not usually that great to start with.

Try redwudz sugestion - set both audio + video to direct stream, and save out a new version of the AVI.

hi i've tried the virtual dub method re saved it, still getting the same problem. I've tried encoding it in nero, tmpgenc, proCoder2, convertxdvd.
It only worked in nero and convertxtodvd but the quality was crap and wasnt worth keeping.

go give dvd flick a go, but this is real pain.

  7. make two encodes. One from before the stop point and one from after the stop point. Then combine them and author.
