Bought a Nissan DV100 just for playing DIVX and Xvids, plays everything, but it does not play with the correct aspect ratio. Every disc seems to be playing at the next aspect ratio up i.e. a 4:3 shows as 16:9 a 16:9 at about 2.2:1 and a 2.2:1 plays with only about a third of the screen. Using a widescreen LG 42 Plasma. Settings on the Nissan for screen dont seem to make any difference

  2. You set the player for 16:9 and are connectiong using HDMI or Component?

That's all I had to do with all feed to a HDTV.

One other thought you didn't hit zoom on the TV or player did you?

  4. If you can take it back, it then sounds incompatable with your TV.

have you tested other devices with the same cable and input on your TV?

If replacing the player try a Toshiba or Phillips (new models), I have both and no weirdness with aspect ratio unless the avi is wrong. Have you checked teh avi to be sure it is reporting the aspect ratio correctly to the player?

  6. I'd check into returns, other things to try, Is there a firmware update available for it? Can it be sent back as defective? It sure isn't playing properly with your TV, Have you tried it on another TV set?
