After repeated issues with software firewalls here where I work, I've decided to look into a hardware solution. I thought Kerio was at fault for constant lockups but I swapped it out for Filseclab and still got lock ups. I'm fairly certain at this point that Symantec Backup Exec is to blame for the conflict, having found various posts about similar incidents as well as error logs in my event view relating to Backup Exec. The system seems to work fine with just Windows Firewall activated. The router is providing inbound protection as well but nothing is catching outbound leaks. Since this is a register system containg customer files I need to make it as secure as possible. Since we have a small business with 3 computers online and 4 employees, I'm looking for an inexpensiver hardware solution. Something with firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti spam built into the box would be nice. Sonicwall was recommended to me and after going through their product recommendation proceedure, I was pointed to the TZ 150. I'd like some input on it though. We have one wireless PC. So I can either spend the extra for the wireless TZ150, or I can get the wired model and try to hook my current WRT54GS into it for the wireless PC. Whichever would work best. Any feedback on this product or other recommendation are appreciated.
