    I know about the Philips DVP5960 playing stuff off an external Hard Drive via USB, but can the Initial IDM 1250 do the same with it's USB port ?

    From a VH reviewer, it looks like it is for photos (only) :

    The USB port with memory card insert capability that's extra gravy but I give it any where between 5 to an 8 because it's slow reading the file and manuving to the photos is a little tedious especially if you have over 100 photos on your memory card.

    It does play Divx off flash cards but I'm not aware of anyone trying a external USB HardDrive setup.
