  1. I recorded some shows off of EyeTV, which displays the closed-captioning as an option. And if you convert the mpeg2 files to a DVD, the DVD player reads the captioning. But there's nothing in between as far as I could find. I know the captions are still there.

My question is, is there a program from OS X which just allows me to watch the mpeg2 files with the closed-captioning? (VLC doesn't, mplayer doesn't) or do I just have to burn it to DVD (since you can't play mpeg2 files on EyeTV once they've been exported)?

    Thanks for any replies

One option might be to choose Save as Disc Image with Toast instead of burning a DVD from those MPEGs. Then mount the disc image to play it with DVD Player.
