I have been trying for the past 2 days to compile some videos from the TV serise Dead Like Me to a dvd. I have created 2 menus.

The root menu and a menu for episode selection. The main menu has a 1024x768 wallpaper as a background and a couple of the buttons included with DVD lab Pro2. One is labeled "play all" and is linked to a playlist to play all the episodes in order. (4 episodes). The second button links to a menu for episode selection. It also has a 1024x768 background and some screen captures from windows movie maker for the episode selection. I have a couple short VOB scenes in between menus and on first play before the root menu is loaded.

I have both menus play the theme to the serise encoded in mp2 192Kbs, 48Kc.

All the links are correct and checked multiple times. The videos give a warning about open GOPs but this has never stoped compiling before.

Here are the files. I am including in the DVD. The VOBs were encoded with WINAVI video encoder.

Here is how I have the links set up for the DVD

Now when I compile the DVD it rewrites the first VOB stream, wich is the pilot episode 1.5GB. The it says it rewrites the 2nd stream but doesnt actually do it since the dvd is still only 1.5GB in size in the output folder. The it says the compile is done. Not even trying to compile the other VOBs. All the VOBs are present but only the first 2 of 8 have a size. 1st being 1gb and 2nd being 500Mb. The other 6 have a filesize of 0kb. All the other files such as VTS and the system files are not present.
Here is what the finnished compile message looks like

as you can see no error, but it didnt compile properly. At least if it gave an error i could narrow down the problem.

I have tried re encoding all the VOBs fromt he source AVIs over 6 times. Still the same problem. I freed up more HD space i thinking that lack of temp space was an issue. With over 20GB on my storage disk available there should be no problem since the temp and output are ony supposed to use 8GB in total according to the calculator and durring compiling I havent seen more than 2GB of my disk space being used.

Here is the TXT report that was output after the compile.

I never had this problem with the original DVD lab PRO but for some reason the app glitched and said my licence was invalid so I decided it was time to upgrade to DVD lab PRO2 anyway. Big mistake!!! GRRRR.

    What do I do???

If you go to the downloads area of Mediachance, and then to the DLP history page, you will find a download and licensing app that will allow you to run your old version alongside DLP2 with the same license key. Might be worth a look.

As for your current problem, I would start by demuxing the VOBs and working with the elementary streams. VOBs aren't designed to be used in this way.

When you demux, make a note of the delay in the audio track. If you find you are out of sync, use this and the delay tool to put things right.

well I reinstalled DVD Lab pro 1.53 and did the registration thing you told me about. Its all good, it worked perfectly. Re built the dvd exactly how it was in DVDlab pro2 with the same files and everything, and it compiled and burnt no problem. DVD lab pro2 is just realy buggy.

The video is out of sync now. It seems to be good near chapter points but as the video plays it drifts and becomes out of sync. !!!bloody HELL!!

After 7+ hours and reading 15 pages of threads in the Mediachance DVD Lab Forums, I FINALLY found the solution.

For my project, I had two videos equaling 4.64 gigs in DVD Lab Pro 2, yet when I compiled the files, I didn't get any bup or ifo files and the filesize of the VIDEO_TS folder was a little over 2 gigs not the expected amount above.

After many compiling attempts, I decided to dig around in the "Connections" window. I found that if you click on your main menu, you have select in the "End Link" part the button or link you want highlighted when you put the dvd in.
I also clicked on both of my two videos and selected the "end link" for each, in this case I selected the main menu.

After doing the above I was able to get a fully complete VIDEO_TS folder.

I'm a bit irritated that this solution came to me after many hours when in pervious versions of DVD Lab Pro (1.53), I did the same usual procedure in making a simple menu with a couple of links and DVD Lab Pro never hiccuped because of something in the "Connections" section . So looks like this version of DVD Lab Pro is more picky than previous versions.
