    Hello,

I came across the following malfunction of DVD Rebuilder free (0.97) several times recently : although the output space for video is stated as 4.444.544 KB (+- 4.5 GB) (this is what is mentionned in the rebuilder log file), the actual size of the entire VIDEO_TS folder is much more than that (actually 4.6GB). Thus it doesn't fit on a 4.5GB DVD!!!

This is rather annoying since Rebuilder is supposed to compress in ordre to fit on a DVD 4.5GB DVD, isn't it ?

Is there any tweaking necessary to have work properly ?

    Thanks in advance

Actually, 4.38GB is the size of a DVD blank, and DVD Rebuilder usually targets around 4.2GB to allow for poor media etc. I have seen DVD RB do this occassionally, and in fact go the other way as well, and produce very small output.

Which encoder are you using ?
What settings - single pass, multi-pass etc ?
Are you playing with any of the filter options ?

The best place for up to the minute discussions is the DVD RB forums at Doom9

    Hello guns1inger,

Thanks for your reply. The encoder I use is CCE Basic 2.69 and I suppose it makes double passes since it first writes a .waf file and then a .m2v file.

There no additionnal filters being used.

I will beam up to Doom9....

    Best regards.
