  1. Hi anyone:
    I have a mpg file 1.3GB,I want conver to 700 MB,to put in a CD,
    I try many kind program as Tmpgenc......
    it all said codec file not support ,can someone help?
    How I know which audio or vedio codec for that mpg?

    Use AVIcodec or GSpot on the original file to see what it is

    Have you try MPEG Video Wizard? It's support the MPEG files very well.

    TMPGEnc won't accept a MPEG as input without a MPEG decoder. You can use TMPGEnc MPEG2 Plugin and then it should. You might also use a bitrate calculator to see what bitrate you will end up with. VCD or SVCD format may be a better choice, depending on the running time of your video. TMPGEnc can do both of those.

    Windows XP doesn't come with a MPEG decoder, you have to install one.

    And if you are unsure of your video's format, use Gspot 2.52 as recommended.

    ...instead of reencoding, you could try transcoding it with ReJig - but shrinking to 54% will make it look... well... not that good. If you reencode, lowering the resolution may be a very good idea - 1/2 D1 perhaps? (But hard to say, as we have no idea what your source file is, beyond that it's mpg2)
