I like Subtitle Workshop to fix synch issues with text-based subtitles, but I am finding that the movie preview capability is hit or miss. Many of the movies (half?) simply won't play when loaded, and no error message is given. I have looked at the characteristics of the movies that play and the ones that won't, and I can't seem to narrow it down to any particular audio or video codec.
Does anyone else have this problem with Subtitle Workshop, and is there a fix?

Yes, and No.
I use almost exclusively captured and/or edited MPG files so it is not just a question of various AVI file types. Not sure what causes this issue, different files created using same settings will behave differently.
Only thing which seems to occassionally, but by no means always, work is to reboot and open no other progs before using Subtitle Workshop. It may be some sort of memory leak issue.
Very frustrating to edit when it constantly locks playback of video, I ended up automating the process another way.
