  1. Many of the movies I download have a "jagged line" along the bottom. Though not horrible, very distracting. Is this fixable? I would have tried to find the answer on my own via Search, but don't know what the problem is called to look for it. I'm using Nero and Xp. Thanks for any help, Doug

From what source, viewed on what? To me, that sounds like a video/TV capture, played on the computer. Tyhe jagged line will be hidden once you play it back on the TV by overscan.

That sounds like just noise at the bottom of the frame. Very common. It's normally just a few lines of video. If you plan to watch them on a TV, it should be in the overscan area of the TV and won't show.

If it bothers you, you can crop and resize or blank it out, but that will require re-encoding and some quality loss.

EDIT: Try a all forum search for 'noise at bottom of video' and you should get a few hits.

  4. This distortion or jagged area is on both the downloaded avi and when I burn to DVD and play on my TV. Doug
