DVD to AVI novice

im a complete novice to this can someone explain to me in simply terms how to copy a dvd to avi format quickly and easily please

What Baldrick said. I use DVD Fab Decrypter to rip to the hard drive and decrypt, then FairUse Wizard to convert to Xvid. It's very easy. There is also AVI.net and AutoGK that will do similar.

normally you need an ISO image to work with Fair use wizard, and I suppose dvd fab decrypter doesn't rip into a ISO file. Can you please explain how you can rip a dvd with fab into an ISO ???

You can't, but you can create one with imgburn2 or imgtools classic
