I have used DVDShrink and also tried DVD Fab Decryptor to backup the movie Benchwarmers. The files will play fine in Nero Showtime straight from my PC, but after burning them to DVD with Nero and Image Burn Tool they are not readable in my stand alone. I have a Lite-On DVD recorder which I've found will read almost anything. I also had this similar problem with the movie Almost Famous which I had only used Nero to burn. After using DVD Fab Decryptor and Image Burn it was readable and played fine, but the same strategy did not work for Benchwarmers. Please help!

    Maybe it's your media.

I use Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R and I have tried several of them out of the same lot that have burned perfectly before. So I doubt it is the media.

Since this has worked for you in the past, there are probably only 3 sources of the problem, Nero, media, or the burner.

I would uninstall / reinstall Nero, including the latest patches.

Just because part of a spindle of discs worked, doesn't mean the rest may not be damaged / flawed. Sometimes the problem can be seen on the discs, scratches or streaks in the dye, sometimes not.

Your burner could also be failing.

I will try uninstalling/re-installing Nero. The previous and succeeding discs of the same lot worked perfectlly on other movies and I'm still burning movies out of the same lot with success. Benchwarmers was the only movie I had trouble with. (I forgot to mention that the discs that would not play in my stand alone, played in my DVD-Rom.) I burnt 5 coasters before giving up. I can't help but thinking that if there is a problem with Nero, that I would be having problems with all the discs I burn. Could there be a problem with Nero or my burner that comes and goes? If so, it only does it with Benchwarmers. I will continue with my process of elimination until I discover the problem. Thanks for the suggestion!

One process that has worked for me 100% of the time with any movie, new or old I've backed is:

AnyDVD running in background ( newest release - as they update almost weekly )

Process movie only, one audio and one sub and any extra analysis modes for best quality.

Process to and ISO and burn ISO with ImageBurn to DVD.

I also use the same media you are using.

On rare accassions there are physical faults with the disk itsef which will 3prevent you from ripping but that mostly atributed to actual damage..
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

Sounds like you just had a bad disc or two.

I just processed this movie over the weekend using DVDFab Decryptor and DVDShrink. No problems.
