try fix it with vcdgear or mpeg-corrector or tmpgenc,file->mpeg tools->simple multiplex.

    but why convert to svcd???

Sounds like it was joined (badly) 1st.

    STRONG RECOMMENDATION:
Decode/Convert to uncompressed AVI 1st. Check Audio & Video lengths. If they match,
then convert to MPEG2. Should still be 25fps.

BTW, you don't need to re-encode the audio, just the video. You can demux, reencode, then mux the new video with the original audio. No need to lower the quality for the audio.

    BTW,

W-H-Y? Do you need to convert to SVCD??? I've never heard of a player that worked with SVCD that didn't work with VCD. And you won't gain (or even maintain) quality.

You can put mpeg1 with vcd resolution on a dvd-video.

No, 352x288 is a valid PAL DVD resolution. You will need to change the sampling rate of the audio to 48000 KHz. TDA will do this for you.

VCDGear (freeware) has a function under "Extraction/conversion" to "fix MPEG errors". Worth trying.

Another possible: MPEG-VCR has a "GOP fixer" function under "Tools".

If that doesn't work, try copying and pasting the entire file in that; or another MPEG editor like Cuttermaran.

If all attempts at reapiring the file fail, transcoding will probably work, but at the cost of some quality.
MPEG1-> AVI -> MPEG2; or directly, as in MPRG-VCRs stream convert.
