Hello
I have a Liteon 5115 GHC+ recorder and I subscribe to Comast Digital cable with the Motorola cable box. When I try to record off OnDemand the recorder will not allow me to do so. But I can with a VCR. How do I fix this? Is there a firmware hack? or a different way of connecting the cable box and recorder? Thanks.

Sounds like you're dealing with CGMS.
Aside from purchasing a piece of hardware to remove the protection there are a couple of tricks I've heard of that will bypass this protection.
The first is to start recording from an unprotected signal and then switch to the protected signal. Something like start recording from the VCR and then disconnect the RCA cables & plug in the RCA cables fromt he cable box.
The second is to start recording from a unprotectd signal (VCR), pause the recording (if your DVD recorder allows this), then either switch to or connect the cable box.
