I make my movies on DVD but would like to keep them on my home network where they can be made available via an XBOX 360 connecting to a media center pc.
So what encoding spec. should I use? I am pretty sure the 360 can play MPEG2 but if I can go DivX or h264 even I could save a lot for storage space.
Do other people do the same; storing video on home network as well?
Any opinions would be appreciated.

From a quick Google search, I found that the XBOX 360 can play back x264 files. I'd suggest using Gordian Knot to encode your files to x264, as the quality is higher at low bitrates than DivX or XviD. It will save you a lot of space over MPEG2.
If you need a hand with the conversion, there are a few Gordian Knot guides on this site. If you get stuck, just post the problem in this thread.
Good luck!
