first of all, thanks to major and everyone who helps with this project, it's very useful. this post is to record my experience using the program for the first time and maybe helps out others who have similar problem getting this to work on similar set-up to me.

i've been keen to check out ffmpegx, to try and convert some video files from imovie to burn to dvd. after installing ffmpegx 0.0.9w r5 for the first time i discovered that when i tried to encode various file formats, .mov, .avi .dv, etc. to dvd, nothing seemed to happen at all after hitting the encode button.

also something i encountered was each time launching the app, the mplayer and mencoder sit files would need to be relocated and installed.

i'm running os10.3.0 on a pismo 500. i then uninstalled version 0.0.9w r5 and tried 0.0.9k and everything works much better now!
