I am not sure if this is the right section. But I would like to understand how to save a long word file as jpg, gif, png. This is what was required for attachment but I do not know how to do that. Thanks

Change screen resolution to highest available.

    Open Word. Open document.
View in Print Preview. Full screen.

For each page, do the following:

    1. Hit [Printscreen] key
    2. Open MS Photo editor.
    3. "New" document, PASTE (should be exact dimensions)
    4. Save as DOC##_PG##.JPG, close app.

    Go to next page...

You can't do it as one JPG but you can create a series of JPGs automatically.

Despite its name... FreePDF does a great job creating JPGs or TIFF
    files and does multipage.

Go to http://freepdfxp.de/fpx732.htm The site is in German, but the
    program is multi-lingual.

    Download and install GhostScript

    Download and install FreePDF

Go to your Start menu and launch FreePDF (not Assistant or Join)

    Go to Edit->Options

    Click on Profiles

    Choose New

Give it a name like "JPG Output" (or whatever you want)

Change the "output format" to JPEG

It defaults to 300 DPI but you can also set it to 600 or 1200

    Choose "save"

Close the configuration window. You only have to do those steps once.

Now, go into just any Windows application and choose "FreePDF" as
    the printer.

Once the priting starts, you will get a dialogue asking what to do with
the output. Change the Profile to "JPG Output" and you can save the
output as JPG files. It will create a file for each page and add "-01"
"-02" etc to the end of each file name.

I've created multiple profiles ("JPG 300" "JPG 600" and "TIFF
Multipage") so I have some flexibility depending on what I'm going to
    do with the graphic.

And.... FreePDF is free for "all uses" so I don't have to worry when I
    use it at work

If you have Microsoft Office Publisher 2003, you can just past all the text in to a blank page, then high light it and right click> save as jpeg. DONE!

There many ways to skin a cat...... smile.....
Knowing if there anything special about this word document (just text or text and pictures)
and why you need to change, that requirement that it has to be in a graphic format... mmm find that unusal.......bottom line .. these details give clues on maybe the best route to go....
note: this long document and I assume it multipage...
!!!!!!!!does the whole thing has to be ONE graphic file or can it be several???? also would a pdf file be sufficient???!!!!!!

Now the suggestion (prtscn meathod) from Cornucopia is very good and I use that a lot my self!!

another meathod..... if the document is a a text only document (no pictures involved) and the layout of the text not too important... yo can save as a *.txt file and use a third party conversion program to convert all those *.txt pages to a graphic format ie; png , gif, jpg, etc etc of yor choice..!! programs like gwspro (sharware), xnview (freeware) and I think infanview also (freeware) can do that!! among other things...!!

another meathod... cumbersome but in certain situations works.... print out your document... then scan the document and save as graphic format of your choice!!

another meathod still.. smile..... a copy and paste routine....!!!
do a copy of the text in your document.
    open up your m$ paint....
make sure the size of the new file is large enough,
then create a text box and paste your text into it and save the whole file as a graphic file!!

as you can see there many ways to achieve what you want.. it will be a matter of which is the best and esiest for you...
