    I'm an access producer in Austin. I have a conspiracy talk show. I have a few hours of tv I would like to put on Google video. I record everything on dvd at the studio. They are saved as vob files or ts. I would like to crop the videos and convert them for uploading to google. Can anyone help me to learn how? I have Avid xp pro, but I have never used it. I also have ultra ISO, DVD decrypt, and dvd shrink.

    If you just want to crop should virtualdubmpeg2 be enough, in virtualdubmpeg2:
    file->open the vob,ts file
    video->filters and add a null transform filter
    video->filter and click on the cropping button and crop
    (if your video is interlaced = video->filter and add resizing to ~320x240 to avoid interlacing or add a deinterlace filter)
    video->compression and select a compression like mpeg4 divx or xvid.
    audio->full processing
    audio->compression and select mp3 audio
    file->save avi

    if you want more advanced editing open the manual for avid...

    Copy the VOB files to your hard drive.

    Use MPG2Cut2 to open and save the sections of the video you wish to keep.

    Use RIVA to convert the edited sections to Flash http://www.rivavx.com/index.php?encoder&L=3

    Many ways to do it, the above is just one method.

    yep, Riva FLV Encoder looks a bit easier...it supports cropping also...and you can also try SUPER...and you can convert directly to flash...

    but google says that they prefer that you upload mpeg4 with mp3 audio, https://upload.video.google.com/video_faq.html#upload5
