My friend uses Winamp as his default player (I don't know why, I've tried to convince him to use MPC-Home Cinema but he refuses).

Everytime we click on a file that has 5.1 ac3 audio, the speakers blair out a loud obnoxious noise that sounds like it's going to blow the speakers apart.

I've checked the Winamp website but can't find anyone who is having the same problem.

The files play in everything else except for the divx player so it probably has something to do with the divx decoder but I don't know what to do to fix the problem.

He is running XP 64 on an Intel i7 machine with 12GB of Ram and a Sound Blaster X-FI Fatality sound card with optical out to a Pioneer sorround receiver.

Weird, I thought we had already installed ac3filter. It's in the download folder. I reinstalled it and it works now. Thanks!
