    What a sad little man

    They have some here,
    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=VCD%2C_DVD%2C_DD%2C_DTS%2C_THX_logos

And you can do a search almost anywhere to find them in font's, .png, jpg, almost any format you want, even for PS.

There's a font called Combi Symbols DV which includes practically every symbol you would ever need, DTS, AC-3, THX, etc. (kim)

it is true that you can not legally use the dvd logo on any commercial dvd's without permission of dvd.org -- nor can you use the dolby logo without their permission ....

the up side is that if you do the paperwork - it is easy to get permission ..

True. Of course, there is probably a site that allows you to download copyrighted software too. But going to jail for 5 years or paying a $250,000 fine for copyright violation is not really worth it to me.

everything you need to know is here

    http://www.dvdfllc.co.jp/ ( http://www.dvdfllc.co.jp/license/l_howto.html )

it is about $20,500 , but your replicator will often have paid for the lic - so all you have to do (or them) is the submission verification part...

otherwise you can not use the logo on any product ..... and they have been busting people (many) for using it without a lic ...

the dolby logo is free, but you have to do the paper work at dolby labs web site ....

the dts logo is free - but there is a lic charge per disk which varies ...

as with most of these lic - as well with CSS and macrovision , the amounts of the lic vary a LOT and in all cases - you have to sign or agree to not publish the amount you pay ....

  13. I doubt the logos are copyrighted. Trademarked maybe... Big difference.

    Dude... get over yourself
Oh well damn!!! all those other logos (DD, Dolby Surround, DTS and THX) image's must not be copyrighted ??

If you ever looked past your own nose and read instead of just looking at the pretty pictures you might see that DL includes the dvd logos

Don't you have summer school classes to go to or something ?

  15. Yes, DL vs. use are different things

    See the sig.

I had to take the dolby ones off after a lawyer contacted me a year or so ago. No problem.

I emphatically state that no one should use bitmap images where they should not be placed.

I make both home movies and use a DVD recorder to record content just like a VCR is used. These are done on officially licenced DVD blanks I buy from 1st party sources. I believe, in making my own covers and disc art, that since I use media and recorders that have official DVD logos on them that I could label the disc I make as a DVD. I don't sell my discs, so I would not need to have a distribution agreement. I'd hate to tell my wife that the home movies on the shelf require an additional $20K licensing fee - but then you did say commercial distribution.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
