  1. I am trying to encode a dvd I ripped to vcd and I used smartripper and DVD2AVI. My next step is to encode using TMPGEnc. I loaded to correct template and from tutorials I have read it says under Settings, Advanced, Source Aspect Ratio to use whatever DVD2AVI said which was NTSC 16:9 but TMPGEnc defaulted to 4:3 525 line (NTSC, 704x480) so I choose 16:9 525 line (NTSC) and encoded a small clip. Then I encoded a small clip using what TMPGEnc defaulted to and they pretty much looked the same. Which setting do I use the default or whatever DVD2AVI said or do I choose 1:1 VGA?
    Thanks

As long as it looks ok for you I don't think it matters. I use 1:1 VGA.
