Computer = Medion-PC, Pentium 34 CPU, 3 GHZ, XP SP2, Grafik ATI Radeon X800, Sound= C-Media HD audio, TV/Sound SAA 7134 Hybrid Capture Device.
After formatting C: and installing new XP problems occurred 1:Adobe Premiere 1,5 is not able to capture from Sony Camcorder: „Can’t activate recorder, try resetting camera“. If Nero pack is de-installed there is no problem but I need NERO also. 2: Power cinema doesn’t work correctly. Channels are scanned and are detected with picture seen. However, when switching to tv, the screen remains black. Updated drivers don’t solve the problem. I tried “Chris TV” and the same problem, channels are detected but cannot show. Who can help?

Maybe a problem with ATI-driver? Had same trouble with nvidia 158.22 driver. Changed back to an older one and picture (Prog-DVB) was back...
Could also be a problem with DirectShowFilter
A tool for this prob is DXMan www.analogx.com

A: When you uninstalled nero , you of course , used the nero clean out tool to completely clean it out ... didnt you ?
B: You installed the latest drivers for motherboard and video ?
C: Checked with adobe if patch / update available ?

If all works now after proper nero clean out , reboot , reinstall nero , reboot , retest .

 ----

 Quick :

Unistall nero , and dont forget to use the nero clean out tool , reboot .
Forget nero , and go with imgburn .

 Long :

Get back to basics first .

 Uninstall nero properly , reboot
Uninstall adobe premier 1.5 , reboot
 Uninstall power cinema , reboot

Now uninstall drivers related to capture devices , and any other programs associated with them , and reboot

Remove capture device from pc (pc power off and removed first)

Important : Remove all other devices connected by usb / ieee (camera's can have issues)

1: Install package that came with capture device , and its drivers .
2: Shut down , remove power , install device .
3: Power up and test device .
 4: Install nero , reboot
 5: Retest device
 6: Install cameras drivers .
7: Shut down pc , power off
8: Connect camera to its own power source .
9: Set camera to correct mode (refer to manual on how to capture from it)
10: Connect correct cable to camera , then to pc
 11: Power up pc
12: Let windows find it and install the drivers automatically
 13: Reboot pc
14: Now test camera ... windv , windows movie maker or other prefered .
15: Shut down pc , and remove camera correctly according to manual
16: Upon restart of pc , install adobe premier 1.5
 17: Reboot
 18: Retest capture device
19: Shut down pc , reconnect camera as explained
20: Test camera again , close ... test capture device , close
21: Run adobe premier for test purpose .

Thanks for all your tips. The NERO - Problem is solved by installing an earlier version of Nero vision express. I didn't know about nero cleaning tool. Unfortunately there is still no tv watching possible. Scanning channels is still ok now even with sound. In Nero vision express I managed to receive a tv picture for a short moment but since then I receive error messages (in German) capture device cannot be initiated. (Medion BDA Analog capture). Power ciinama is uninstalled because when scanning for a second time it freezes. I give almost up. Further help possible?

A: How is sony camera performing ?

B: "SAA 7134 Hybrid Capture Device" ... pci or usb ?

Could be device in conflict or damaged .capture device cannot be initiated

For usb type , try another port ... best not to have other usb devices connected at same time .

Pci types need other considerations , as example for mini atx motherboard :

 === (agp slot)
 --- (pci1)
 --- (pci2)
 --- (pci3)

1: Pci1 cannot have a device installed (shared resources with onboard video / agp slot)

2: This leaves only choice being pci2 or pci3 , only one can have a device installed ... if other devices are installed , they must be removed .

All of these problems sound as though the motherboard drivers haven't been installed. As it is a bought system, I assume you got a drivers disc with it and have loaded them?
