I have a P3 800 and I'm thinking of trying Win Xp on it. I have 2 Hard Drives so I was going to leave my 98SE on one HD and try XP on my second HD.

The rub is that I have a Matrox Marvel G400 TV Video Card.

I went to the Matrox Web Site in search of drivers and it said that the XP Os supports the video portion of the Card but that would leave me with out the TV Out and Hardward Capturing capability of the Card. However I did see that there were some WIN 2000 drviers. Could they work.

Does anybody have any experience in using XP with this Video Card.

The Win2k drivers might or might not work; you won't know til you try. Considering your hardware, you might be better served with a copy of Win2k if you can get one.

  4. I have WinXP on a Pentium III 500 MHz machine and it runs like a champ. If you want better performance, turn off the UI enhancements in Windows XP and it will run just like Win2K. If you don't have at least 512 Mb of RAM, then consider getting more. XP runs better with more RAM.
