This isn't "really" political (I think). But for anyone who hasn't seen it but wants to (and if you have an FLV player), here's the video of the airstrike on Al Zarqawi's safehouse as captured from CentCom in Iraq:

Why they converted it is beyond me. In any case, I went direct to CentCom's website and, though slow, was able to download the video in its original WMV format:

Yeah, no kidding. I saw it on FoxNews, too ... and it looked even uglier on my 27" TV, hehe. I suspect the original video size was very small anyway ... as seen from a tiny B/W targeting camera.

Well, the video is more of a "public demolition." No body parts, just building parts and a lot of smoke.

The impressive part is that he was still alive for a hort time afterwards, from what reports say.

I've had 1st and 2nd degree burns on my right arm because of a small accident with a hot radiator hose. I wanted to chop my arm off. After a direct hit from 2 500lbs. bombs, why fight to live?

I'd imagine picture quality wasn't one of the specifications. Being able to track a target in the dark while moving at speeds over 500mph+ at a zoom level of (?500x? ?1000x?) and still provide a rock steady image.

I wonder what the lux rating on that thing is? :P
