pirate bay was not shutdown, it has been confirmed that the site was down for maintanance and the staff put that letter there as a joke, it is changing the homepage

it is one of the best most well fighting torrent sites around so deserves to have its place in the forum that gets the most attention

No matter what side of the coin you stand on....Pirate Bay is exactly what it's name implies it is....a place to download pirated movies, games, music and software....WAREZ to most people.

there's still a few legal things on there.....though yes, 99.998% of the stuff on that website, to what i understand, isnt exactly legal...i know for example, ratdvd had their program mirrored on there....not sure if they continued to allow that or not, but i know at least for some time it was listed as an official mirror.
