  1. I have checked out this site and I have to say it is well put together, kudos
I just want to make sure of a few things. I am going to try and burn some vcd's and want to make sure I get it right. I am using a P4100 w/128 ram and 64mb nvidia card. My videos are taken with a JVC mini DV. Is this the right equipment list for VCD conversion?
    Pyro Fire Wire Card
    Nero 5.5
    Down Load Tmpge software

yep. Alls you need to encode VCDs is the right software and a video of some format to encode. If you are using DV videos then you need some sort of way to get the video off your tapes onto your HD, I guess your nvidia card can take care of that.
I would recommend that you use TMPGEnc encoder, as it is free and does a great job. You may also want to give Panasonic's encoder a whirl, but dont pay for it unless you tried it out and liked it better than TMPGEnc. You could just try the cracked version of Panasonic and keep it if you like it.
