  1. I just read the How to Articles on how to copy a DVD to my HD using DVD Fab Platinum. Now I am trying to figure out how to play the video from my harddrive instead of the DVD? Not sure what to do here.

    Thanks

You should have the main movie files. Then four other files. It's usually the first file, click it and the movie should play.

  3. OK, I can play it from my Hard Drive no problem. However, it is a bit cumbersome because it is the Sopranos Season 1 DVD's, and it now I have 5 VOB files when one ends, I have to start the other one to continue my viewing. What I was trying to accomplish would be to be able to click one file and play one full episode. So not sure what steps I need to do to accomplish such a task.

  4. If the original DVD had menus, and you ripped the full DVD, just use a software DVD player to play it (It should have chapters, episode menu)

In DVDFab Platinum you have the option of doing a custom rip with several options. It's under "customize"

It's a little more difficult when you copy a tv show. It's easy if you just copy the whole dvd, gets harder when you customize and copy just the main episodes for that season.

  6. I just "ripped", copied the full DVD to HD, and now I have 5 VOB files. One of the first VOB files is smaller and it has the typical DVD menu, but it is not interactive where I click on the menu item to play the DVD. I use Video LAN player, and trying to figure out where I can view the whole thing at once. Thanks for the help, and sorry for the newbie questions.

  7. In the customize menu, there is an option "No menus, play the titles continuously"

You need a decent software DVD player like cyberlink or windvd if you want menu functionality.

If you don't care about menus and just want to work with what you got to "view the whole thing at once", just join the vob files into 1 big vob with freeware like mpg2cut2 (use the append function)

  8. There is a way to have access to the menus on the DVD while using Video LAN, which is good bc I did not want to have to download another player just to play my DVD. Thanks for the help.
