Hi all,
Each time i import an image to premiere pro2 via photoshop cs2 then play the DVD the image pixels appear to shake or wobble. It only happens when say the image contains lines very close together, e.g. wired fencing, grating on metal covers, so really when their is a tiny gap showing the background the image seems to wobble around that area only.
I have never altered the image in any way only ticked the box in premiere to fit the image to size.
So am I missing something? or is it to do with the vbr or cbr? I have even tried altering the pixel ratio and gaussion blur, bit it still occurrs.
Can any one help please.
Thankyou in advanced
Cheers Josel

It is because the output is interlaced. Interlacing is a display method whereby all the odd lines are displayed in one pass, then evens in the second. The effect is that you see a whole image, however in some circumstances you get this shimmering effect.
The solution is to apply a small gaussian blur in photoshop, or a small directional blur in a vertical direction.
You should also check Premiere Pro, as many editors and encoders have a check box to address this. It may be called Reduce Interlace Flicker, or similar.Read my blog here.
