    I think I may know the answer to this, but I wanted to ask to be sure. If you have a Gateway and the system recovery disc and also have another Gateway, can the system recovery disc from one work on the other?

    OK, so I guess thats a no for me. These are 2 different models and one is P4 the other is AMD...so this wouldn't work, right?

    Well, If you wanted to put Windows Media Center Edition on a PC that came with the regular home edition, is there a certain one you have to get...for instance does it have to say Full version or something for it to work?

    WME is meant only for a new computer purchase. It is not strictly available as an update.

    If you want to be your own computer builder, look for the WME independent forums for support. Gateway and Microsoft will decline support.

    I don't believe you can buy Windows Media Centre - it has to be shipped with specific certified hardware.

    Thanks both of you. Thats what I was thinking. I just saw where people were selling it on Ebay and thought you could use it on your own PC. Oh well.
