  2. What you need to do is get yourself one of the Facet Video Clarifierers. It's 102 shipped with a guarantee to disable macrovision copyright protection. Everybody on the board here swears by 'em and Facet guarantees it to work for DVD and VHS.

All it takes to connect is to unplug the video cable going into to your DVD recorder, plug it to the input on the clarifer, run another video cable from the output of the clarifier to the input on the dvd recorder that you just pulled the other cable out of. Plug the power source in and that's it. It accepts RCA in as well as s-video in but I've been told that it will only work with the RCA video when used with a Panasonic recorder. I'll try myself tonight.

Just do a search here for facet video or clarifier and see what everybody says.

Facet was super fast to ship as well. I ordered mine on Friday and it arrived in Georgia on Monday. Haven't hooked it up to my e80h yet as my e80 just got here last night.

visit facetvideo.com to order yours today. It should solve your problems.

  4. Handy, that may be all fine and good if he wants to copy DVDs but his post states that he's trying to copy VHS tapes. The clarifier is the best all around solution for someone that has DVD and VHS. If he or anyone ONLY wanted to backup DVD, your suggestion would be on target.

  6. Oh, I just used a macro strip box between the vhs & panasonic machine. Might be some ads for those in electronic mags.

Is there a device that's cheaper then 50 bucks?

    Would this http://www.qualitekindustries.com/quaindinc/bddigvidstab.html work?
