Hi everyone. I’m working on a fan film and need some advice. So far I’ll I’ve done is write a script – I haven’t started filming it yet - and before I start filming I’d like to learn as much as I can about filming techniques, without taking any film classes :P I was wondering if any of you can recommend some good books – I’ve looked at book stores and on-line and there are a million books out there, but I was wondering if anyone here can give a personal recommendation.

I know the basics – use a tri-pod, get a good mic, etc. But I know there is a lot more involved than just switching on the camera.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Lighting, lighting, lighting. Just as or more important than using a tripod.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

Oh, yeah. Especially since parts of the film will probably invlove some green/blue screening - I'm painting half my garage a bright green and the other half a bright blue (it's a big garage) for that, and installing a bunch of lights.
