I'd like to convert some things into DV-AVI for editing in Adobe Premiere. It doesn't seem to work for me, however. I downloaded the Panasonic DV Codec, and every time I try and export using the codec, it shoots out an error message and doesn't encode. I tried re-installing the codec but with no luck. What could I be doing wrong?

are you using a valid dv resolution/size? 720x480 pr 720x576? if not you must resize first.

Not enough info to really comment. I have the Panasonic DV codec installed and using VirtualDub Mod, it's easy to encode to the DV format. I'm not that familiar with Premiere. You do have to adhere to the specifications of the DV codec as far as framesize, etc. Try VDM and see if it can encode to DV, then see if Premiere will accept that.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I was using VDM. But it looks like Baldrick was right! It was an out-of-spec resolution. Thanks for the fast replies!
Although now my problem is that Premiere didn't accept it as native DV. I suppose I should make a new thread for that one.
