I've just created two VCD photo slide shows, one with DVD Picture Show and the other with Xatshow, and although they both played fine on my Apex AD-1000, neither could be paused. I wanted to see if another Apex owner can confirm that it is in fact possible to pause a home burned VCD. Thanks!

Well, I don't have any homeburned picture VCD's such as those, but the homeburned VCD's that I do have can be paused on both of my Apex's.

I have an older Apex Ad-660. It too will not pause a slide show. It also puts black bars above and below the picture. The pictures have a 'flickery' look to them as well. Meaning it looks like the player has issues converting the progressive pictures to interlaced NTSC tv. I also have a Panasonic RV31. It does a much better job of playing back these photo album vcds. It does not have the pause issue, the bars, or the flickering. But it doesn't skip through pics as quickly. Tradeoffs......

I can't pause slideshows because they don't need to be.
Set the time after each pic to infinate.
I don't see a ficker effect.
